and so it all begins...

the weather's been whack here.
wet one day, sunny the next.
but the blistering cold wind has always been constant.

i hate the wind.

messes up my hair.
makes me look like crap and dries out my skin.

i've more or less given up on combing my hair before i leave every morning.
if it's going to look like what is was when i first wake up, why bother?

the skin will start peeling like an onion soon enough.

prices here are super...
true enough, everything here is dollar-for-dollar!
what costs SGD1 costs 1pound here *chokes

i will forever remember scotland as the place where a bulb of garlic costs 39p. madness.

other than that,
people here are reallyreallyreally very nice.

old wrinkly people smile and say hi to you, even while theyre tottering about on their walking sticks and the wind is threatening to blow their last few remaining strands of hair off.

guys willingly hold the door open for you, even though theyre like 10steps ahead of you.

either the scots are from a different planet or i've just never had the luck to meet such nice and polite people.

the room in the apartment is pretty big. more than enough (personal) space for the 3 of us, plus fridge.
after settling in and unpacking, still got space in the middle to do jumping jacks and cartwheels. i like :)

the washing machine is spoilt though, so that means more $$ spent on keeping my clothes clean in the laundry store across the street.
probably going to ask for reimbursement from the landlady for all my laundry cos she promised a washing machine when she rented a room to us.

much love!
